Mastery Teaching Support Foundation Course
Teaching Assistant | New to the role | Year 10-12 Student
Build your teaching knowledge and classroom support skills from day one, whether you’re new to the Teaching Assistant role or exploring a future in education while at school.
Entry Requirements: For Teaching Assistants in their first two years in the role (complete the course in 1 year), or school students in Years 10–12 (complete the course in 2–3 years, part-time alongside study).

Teaching Assistant | Experienced | Certificate IV completed

Instruction Coach | Teacher supporting teachers
Develop your ability to coach and support fellow teachers whilst joining a network of instruction professionals committed to school improvement.
Entry Requirements: For Instruction Coaches, or teachers responsible for supporting teachers and improving instruction. Complete in 2 years, part-time.

School Leader

How do I sign up for a course?
To enrol, register via these links:
You’ll need to be in the relevant role and experience level outlined on the page and a member of a Good to Great Schools Australia Partner School first. Join as a Partner School here, then return to enrol in the course.
What course is recommended for me?
The right course depends on your role and experience. Head to the ‘Find Your Course’ section above, find your role (teacher, teaching assistant, instruction coach, school leader or school student) and you’ll see the course (or courses) that match your entry requirements. If more than one course applies, each course’s full entry requirements are listed in the ‘Explore the Six Courses’ section to help you confirm the best fit.
How long are the courses?
Course duration varies based on your schedule and prior experience. The courses are flexible, with many participants completing modules and work placement activities over six months. You can study at your own pace while working or balancing family commitments.
Will my school need to complete any observations?
Yes. Participants need to be observed applying the techniques and practices learned during the course. The process is simple and fully guided, with clear instructions provided to the school supervisor. The Mastery Teaching Support Foundation Course requires supervisor sign-off as evidence for the Certificate IV RPL assessment.
