School Learning Packs

Schools can choose from over 300 modules or 10 Module Packs to complete together.

Builds shared understanding and common language.

Enhances practice and implementation fidelity.
Strengthens team capability and wellbeing.
Increases commitment to learning and collective responsibility.

Schools must be Partner Schools to access school team learning.

Delivery

Schools can engage in school team learning on student-free days or anytime during the year. Spread over a day or smaller sessions during terms.

Modules have 10 lessons and take two hours to complete, so schools can complete in one session, or two 60-minute sessions of five lessons in each.

Groups vary depending on the school’s needs.

  • School Teams: principals, instruction coaches, teachers and
    teaching assistants,
  • Teaching Teams: teachers and teaching assistants,
  • Leadership Teams: principals, instruction coaches and other
    leadership roles.

Participants attend in different ways depending on the school's needs.

In person.

Facilitation by GGSA Expert

GGSA experts are former teachers, instruction coaches and principals. They offer regular professional learning sessions:

  • Individuals: individuals from different schools completing
    the same module.
  • One school team: ten or more participants from the one
    school completing the same module.

Bookings are made at least 2 weeks in advance.

Facilitation by School Leader

School leader facilitates delivery and sets up the learning online. Course materials are structured so that facilitators do not require subject-matter expertise to deliver confidently.

The facilitator delivers the module, and participants complete their test and survey and are issued a certificate.

This course is designed for instruction coaches who work closely with teachers to enhance their teaching practices and improve student learning outcomes. Building on the foundational knowledge provided in Learn Effective Teaching Essentials, this course delves deeper into strategies and approaches specifically tailored for coaching educators.

Embed Cycles of School Practice (ECSP)

Embed Cycles of School Practice is a professional learning module designed to guide school leaders, instructional coaches and teaching teams in embedding continuous improvement practices into everyday routines. This module explores the foundational Cycles of School Practice framework, which drives school-wide improvement through collaboration, data-driven decision-making and reflective leadership.

Embed Continuous Improvement Coaching (ECIC)

In this module, participants will review the basic principles of continuous improvement. They will unpack the coaching frameworks and how to embed the specific techniques and skills required to help teachers and principals succeed in continuous improvement and will take a closer look at the “Three R’s approach to a coaching by examining each step of the process and the tasks that occur.

Embed Positive High-Expectations Coaching (EPHEC)

Embed Positive High-Expectations Coaching is a course module for school coaches that enables them to make the shift from implementing their school’s Behaviour Management Plan in year one to solidifying the school’s positive culture and ensuring sustainability in practices, programs and procedures across years two and three.

Learn Effective Teaching Essentials (LETE)

Learn Effective Teaching Essentials is a professional learning module for principals, instruction coaches, teachers and teaching assistants that is aligned to AITSL national standards. Participants understand how effective teaching leads to increased learning and overall school improvement. They can implement effective teaching techniques and practices in programs and resources, apply student engagement strategies and build relationships with parents to support students’ school readiness.

Learn Cycles of School Practice (LCSP)

    Learn Cycles of School Practice is a professional learning module for principals, instruction coaches, teachers and teaching assistants. Participants will learn about the structure of the 8 Cycles of School Practice and understand how the cycles support effective teaching. They will learn how to engage in school-wide professional learning and how to participate in coaching in support of each team member’s professional development. Participants will also learn how to use school and classroom data reviews to support school improvement efforts, along with the processes for creating a culture of collaboration in the school. Embedding the cycles to strengthen parent and community engagement in student learning and school improvement efforts will also be a part of this module.

    Deliver Positive High-Expectations Classroom Practices (DPHECP)

    Deliver Positive High-Expectations Classroom Practices is a professional learning module for teachers and teaching assistants. Upon completion of this module, participants will understand and be able to apply foundational classroom management practices and techniques to improve their classroom’s climate and contribute to the shaping of a positive high-expectations school culture. They will learn how to embed rules and routines, use positive reinforcement effectively, improve their engagement norms and practices, and learn strategies and procedures for preventing and addressing inappropriate behaviour on a continuum.

    Deliver Effective Teaching Techniques Coaching (DETTC)

    Deliver Effective Teaching is a professional learning module for teachers and teaching assistants that is aligned to AITSL national standards. Participants will understand the components of effective teaching resources. They can implement effective teaching techniques and practices in programs and resources, apply student engagement strategies and build relationships with parents to support students’ school readiness.

    Deliver Cycles of School Practice in the Classroom (DCSPIC)

    Across 10 lessons, you will learn how to deliver cycles of school practice in your classroom. You will explore eight cycles across key domains and zones that support effective teaching. You will examine how professional learning, coaching, and peer collaboration improve classroom practice. You will learn to use assessment and mastery data to inform instruction and placement. You will also focus on engaging families and communicating progress to support continuous school improvement.

    Deliver Special Needs Support Classroom Practices (DSNSCP)

    Deliver Special Needs Support Classroom Practices is a professional learning module for classroom teachers and teaching assistants working to deliver targeted, high-quality support for students with special educational needs. This module focuses on day-to-day practices that ensure consistent implementation of the Special Needs Support Program in inclusive classrooms. Participants will explore how to observe student needs, interpret assessment data and use planning tools to personalise instruction.

    Administer Placement Tests (APT)

    In this module, participants will learn how to conduct and administer placement testing for Direct Instruction programs, enabling them to place students at the correct instructional level. The module covers testing processes across a range of DI programs, including Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading, Spelling Mastery, Connecting Math Concepts, Language for Learning and Essentials in Algebra. Placement testing ensures students begin instruction at the level where they can achieve consistent success, reinforcing the mastery-based approach of DI.

    Teach Reading Mastery Signature Edition K, Year 1, Years 2–3, Years 4–5 (TRMSE)

    In this module, participants will learn how to teach Reading Mastery Signature Edition. This program uses the Direct Instruction approach, which is designed to help students master the fundamentals of beginning reading. It is intended for students who are appropriately placed according to the program’s placement test.

    Teach Connecting Math Concepts A–F (TCMC, Years F–6)

      Teach Connecting Math Concepts is a professional learning module for teachers and teaching assistants. In this module, participants will learn about the core components of Teach Connecting Maths Concepts A and will be able to apply techniques needed for teaching the program effectively. They will also learn how to conduct mastery tests, record assessment data, provide remedies and apply strategies that motivate and engage students.

      Deliver Special Needs Support with Direct Instruction

      Special Needs Support with Direct Instruction is a professional learning module designed for educators and teaching assistants seeking to enhance their expertise in supporting students with special needs through evidence-based practices and direct instruction methods. Participants will gain comprehensive understanding of contemporary disability frameworks, diagnostic testing procedures, and inclusive education practices within the Australian educational landscape.

This course serves as a continuation, leveraging the foundational knowledge acquired previously. Participants are presumed to possess a fundamental understanding of effective teaching techniques and are actively applying them in their teaching practices.

        Set Up Classrooms for Positive Behaviours is a professional learning module designed for all role holders within schools to support the implementation of positive high-expectations classrooms. Across 10 lessons, you will learn to transform your classroom into an environment that automatically promotes positive behaviour. You will discover how behaviour responds to environmental stimuli and how intentional design prevents problems before they occur.

        Teach Rules and Routines

        Teach Rules and Routines is a professional learning module designed to support staff in schools to establish clear, consistent and predictable learning environments. Across 10 lessons, you will learn that teaching behavioural expectations is just as critical as academic instruction. You will discover how to break complex rules into concrete, teachable steps that all students can understand and follow.

        Beginning with the foundational principle that clarity prevents problems, you will explore how to transform abstract school and classroom expectations into observable, measurable routines. The module guides you through developing procedures using a consistent instructional approach, ensuring students know exactly what expected behaviours look like.

        Prevent Problem Behaviour

        This module is designed for all roles within schools. Participants learn to prevent problem behaviour through proactive, classroom‑ready strategies. They unpack environmental design and educative prevention. Beginning with Australia’s current discipline challenges, participants explore the shift from reactive responses to preventative practice. The module guides them through modifying spaces, positioning themselves strategically and establishing predictable routines that reduce anxiety and support positive behaviour. Participants master continuous visual scanning, pre‑correction techniques and non‑verbal communication systems that redirect behaviour while maintaining learning flow.

        Learn to De-escalate Students

        This module is designed for Principals, Instruction Coaches, Teachers, and Teaching Assistants. Participants learn to understand student escalation and apply effective de-escalation strategies to maintain supportive and safe learning environments. They unpack how behaviour functions as communication and how escalation follows predictable patterns that can be planned for and responded to intentionally. Beginning with a shared understanding of de-escalation and behaviour as communication, participants explore common triggers, early warning signs, and the escalation process. The module guides them through using Individualised Plans to inform proactive and in-the-moment responses that reduce escalation. Participants master identifying triggers and patterns of escalation, applying Individualised Plan strategies in real time, and using preventative, relational, and language-based strategies to de-escalate behaviour and repair relationships.
